It's a combination of a joint and raycasts. Every time there's not a clear shot to the joint anchor, the anchor changes to what blocked it and reduces its limit by the distance from the old to new anchor. The visuals are just a line renderer.
Since the next edition of the Game Jam is approaching, I decided to take a look at a presentation of some of the entries from 2021, and I laughed the second I saw this poor tongue-tied girl. XD Great idea.
One small remark: I have an AZERTY keyboard, and it turns out that the controls map to my local layout, which is least ergonomic. I think this could be solved (several programming APIs offer such a distinction between symbolic and physical keys).
This happened to me with already three various games including yours, so I think this is the kind of thing that is easy to overlook when you don’t have the configuration for testing and realizing it. Not serious at all (especially since the arrows work), but this is a good tip for future projects from anyone. ;)

Weird game, but I like weird.

Very original puzzle idea! Keep it up!
How did you do the rope physics? (Tongue wrapping around corners)

fun but i dont get why the music is so eerie.
I mean, wrapping your tongue around stuff is pretty eerie. Trust me, I've been there.
